(...) here's another photo of him. (...) - I think this could be either one of the Florida cooters
(Pseudemys floridana peninsularis), a slider - like the Missouri slider (Pseudemys floridana hoyi) or the
red-eared slider (Pseudemys scripta elegans). The markings on the head are not clearly visible, and the patterns on the
shell in those species change from turtle to turtle, so it is difficult to say exactly. Looking at the head, I would say
a Missouri slider, but from the shell it could be red-eared slider.
