american continents.

Chelydra serpentina serpentina
( Northern snapping turtle ) has the broader range, being found
in Southern and Eastern Canada and throughout the eastern two - thirds of the United States.
Chelydra serpentina osceola
( Florida snapping turtle ) occurs only in the United States in southern Georgia and Florida.
Chelydra serpentina rossignoni
( Mexican snapping turtle ) in Mexico ( from central Veracruz, south through Guatemala to Caribbean Honduras ).
Chelydra serpentina acutirostris
( Equadorian snapping turtle ) from northern Honduras, eastern Nicaragua, Costa Rica to Panama,
then Pacific Colombia and Equador, south to the Gulf of Guayaquil.
