Basking light for alligator snapping turtles is not necessary - these turtles basically never leave water. The only time they do,
is when the females go nesting.
The best way to give your alligator snapper a chance to catch some rays, is to take it outside for a walk in the summer.
Let him or her hang around in the grass for an hour now and then - this will give them all the sun they need. Exploring
the environment will be a good thing not only for their bodies, but also for their brains !
