The alligator snapping turtles live in Southern United States, around Florida and Mississipi. They are the largest North American water turtle species,
and one of the largest turtles in the world.
They grow huge and lead sedentary and solitary lives. Their preffered environment are slow moving rivers, lakes, swamps, bayouts and canals. They like to hang around
submerged logs and rocks, where while holding onto them they can go on their business of stealth hunting.
