The central most important part of the turtle's nervous system is, like any other vertebrate,
the brain and the spinal cord.
Both of them are fluid - filled hollow structures. The brain has a number of paired swellings
which make up for its main parts: the olfactory sacs, the olfactory bulbs,
the cerebral hemispheres and the optic lobes.
The other visible structures include
pineal body ( epiphysis ), the cerebellum, and the medulla oblongata
which protrudes into the spinal cord.
