Snapping turtles, which are in good health, look somewhat chubby. It is their normal look. Their shells seem to be
too sall for their robust bodies, and their legs are nothing like the slimmer legs of sliders. They have an anormous appetite, and
in captivity without a chance to exercise they can become too fat.
Snappers, and any other water turtles, should be taken on a regular basis out of the water for a 'walk'. I take mine outside on a sunny day. It
gives them a chance to catch some sunrays and burn few callories. Exploring new environents also is an exercise for their brains.
They can also be put on a diet, fet less often and less food. Being obese is not good for the turtle. Wild snapper usually mascular and lean.
