Snapping turtles grow pretty fast. They have a huge appetite and become quite large in just one year. They also become heavy.
Hatchling snapping turtles are very cute - at least that's what most people say. It is easy to feel like wanting one, but a person
should think twice before deciding on keeping one. In a year they become almost the same size as adult red-earded sliders for example, and
will need larger and larger enclosures from now on. They can't be kept together in the same environment with other turtles too. They are way too
powerful and will aggressively fight for their food. There is always the chance that they will seriously injure or even kill the other turtle, so
snappers will need their own seperate enclosure.
