June 05/2004 Imagine vast ocean by Stan Gielewski
Imagine vast ocean... its surface quiet and so perfect...
Endlessly deep...
Under infinite sky...
Distant stars flickering from above, and from below...
Making you wonder - does this thin membrane even exists ?...
Making you wonder which side you are on and which side you are looking at,
Like an endless mirror...
Tranquility...
Then with one ripple the surface breaks,
A sea turtle - like a visitor from another dimension.
And your eyes meet as it flies away,
Further and further...
With each move of its flippers... like bird on a wing...
Our earth on its back...
Moving through space...
With no beginning and no end...
Like we do...
Entangled in our lives, spending all our energy on building new worlds, we forget
that it has already been here for us. So beautiful and perfect, at the length of our arms only and waiting
to be entered. Yet planting new trees we crumble what's already growing.
Wasting lives trying to prove what the reality is... forgetting how to dream...
Blinded with empty words and drunk on big ideas we just don't see it... or just - don't see...
Turtles - some people see them as evil, ignore them or shoot them - result still the same until they realize, that
this world might collapse if we loose them...
