The common snappers nest from late April to October.
The nest, which may be quite a distance from nearest water,
is being dug with the turtles hind legs and the eggs are directed
individually to the bottom of the nest by one of the snappers legs.
The eggs, which number 25 to 80, are spherical, hardshelled and a bit
more than one inch in diameter.
Hatching usually takes place after 80 to 90 days.
